Someone Dear To My Heart - Even through the Ups and Downs
To Mrs RITA LEICESTER
My Teacher.
My Mentor.
My Inspiration.
My Confidante.
My Friend.
Thank you for everything that you've done for me.
Not everyone could appreciate your unconventional teaching methods, but to me, they were life lessons that i will never forget.
It is because of you that gives me confidence i can make a difference when i become a teacher.
It was you who further sparked my interest in art and taught me all there was to know in Batik, even if it meant late nights and constant scolding.
It was you who gave me support and encouragement in continuing my passion of art, even though deep down you knew i wasnt the most talented.
I still vividly recall when you said that you were willing to teach me anytime because you knew that my passion and hardwork more than makes up for my talent.
Till this day, i hold this thought dear to my heart.
When you found out my dad had cancer, you reached out your helping hand and helped me fulfill his wishes of me doing well in both Secondary school and Junior College.
"Art is a subject that can be taught." You concurred when i doubted myself with my inability and when others doubted my skill.
I will never forget all these wonderful memories, all the sweat and blood that it took for both of us to complete my Batik pieces.
You will be dearly missed.
