close brush with...

it was an ordinary day... or so i thought.

i walked along university avenue, exceptionally early for my next class at chem building.

i saw 2 familiar figures bike pass me at the opposite side of road which i was about to cross.

i shouted across the road (like a madman, or so i thought... i couldn't have realized how loud i was since i was plugged to my ipod)

i instinctively made a chase, dashed across charter without realizing it was the red man.

i got to the other side of the road, a car zoomed by behind me - fingernail's distance. no honking.

i carried on with my chase, calling out to make myself heard, but i guess the whizzing cars drowned my voice into nothingness. i was just 5 metres behind them.

i decided to give up the chase, seeing them slowly fade.... cycling further.... going.... disappearing.... gone.

i heaved a huge sigh, and then the reality of almost becoming mince meat finally sank in.

"What just happened?"

i walked into chem building, convinced that today was still another ordinary day.
