Wake Up

How many times must one fail or falter before one will realise the folly of his ways?

Well according to the history books, I would say a whole load of times. Is that resilience or is it just plain stupidity?

Why do we keep making the same mistakes if we know the consequences? Is it for the thrill of it all? I was wondering why people still sin if they know that GOD is displeased with us when we do it. But why do we allow ourselves to be in that situation in the 1st place. Surely its cause there is a small part of us which doesn't want to let go and still wants to carry on with our hedonistic ways. Is it ok for us to want to change just cause we are afraid of going to hell or petrified of being punished by HIM? We should want to change cause we love HIM.

We love because he 1st loved us. What is love then? Many people have so many definitions. I still go back to the most fundamental books for its definition. I'm sure everyone is familiar with 1 Corinthians. Love should be all about that. Unconditional. Not jealous. Kind. Patient. Understanding. Love should transcend all boundaries, race, religion and creed. Being with someone does not mean we should just accept their flaws. We should want to become better people. We should grow in love for each other and for others around us. It is an ongoing process and everyone is learning. Love for another human being is also a tricky matter.

How does one show love for that superior who has been a pain in the arse? Or that back stabbing colleague who seems too good to be true? Well we may be tempted to screw them back but the only way to really break the vicious cycle is with love. Only love can change the world. Sounds cheesy but its really true. Its cheesy and cliche cause its overused but why is it overused? Its cause no one wants to listen, that's why people have to repeat it so many times. I can only shake my head in disbelief as I watch what is happening to the world and what will become of the future generation. Lord have mercy on us all.
