we all need the Lord

show me the way Lord, of my everyday
that i'll submit to you, come what may
blighted paths i walk no more
up the lighted skies is where i'll soar

teach me O Lord, to know how to love,
to possess the gentleness of a dove
let wisdom and patience guard my heart
all foolish choices i'll discard

lead me dear Lord, to the love of my life
by Your will, not mine to contrive
for only fools rush in, to end up hurt
but wise are they to wait upon the Lord for guidance and comfort

so guide us Our Lord, to trust in You
this day we pray with faith and hope
that You'll let us shine like stars
the future unknown, Lord you are all we need to cope
