CNY@Madison 2007
Hey peeps!
Just had my Physics midterm exam! Phew, am so glad it’s over. Still have a midterm term, a quiz and a speech tomorrow!!! *gasp gasp* I think the stressful period will only end after my Ochem midterm on Monday. Will be going to Chicago this weekend to attend Citylights - this Singaporean event organized by Singaporeans from UChicago. Heard they’ve invited Hossan Leong this year to host the event. I’ve also heard there’ll be greak makan – mainly Singaporean delights! How can I miss such an event man? Haha… even though a midterm awaits on Monday…. *oops*
K, a quick flashback of my first CNY away from home…. It’s been 6 months already!!!
Presenting our scrumptious reunion dinner! 8 course dinner – which has FA CAI in it!! It’s been a LOOOONGG time since I’ve eaten any fa cai! And they had really juicy scallops and prawns too! Of course, home cooked reunion dinner’s the best! Gonna miss if for another 2 years! Heheee….

We even “lao yu sheng” even though it turned out to be a very messy affair, with all the veggies, condiments, and smoked salmon spilling all over because the plate we used was a little small and shallow.

大年初一,I went over to Sihui and Joanne’s place to 拜年. Even though the group was small, it was great company! Hope we’ll be able to go over to each other’s house to 拜年 after we move into our own apartments next year!

Joanne cooked “Singapore Curry” and after dinner, we just sat around the tea table, cracking lame jokes, gossiping about scandals among the Singaporeans here in UW (not my idea!! haha….) while eating some new year goodies like love letters, kuey neng ko, cashew nuts (courtesy of Royston’s parents…. sent them all the way from Singapore) and Ben’s and Jerry’s Icecream!!

and now.... introducing my roommate, Eric, from Taiwan. This was the first time we took a photo together and it happened to be 大年初一!

Alrighty, hope you guys are collecting lots of angpows. Don’t forget to give me a big treat when I return k??? MUST ah! Haha…… I’m very “poks” [=bankrupt] already. See ya soon!
