a moanday after citylights

hey guys,

weibin's back Downunder and I saw some really nice pix taken at the airport in Elvin's blog! First, WHY NEVER SHOW THE GIRL'S FACE!!!! haha.... Second, Rey, you hair is way too long, pls cut it! Looks like ah beng already!!! :x And to Weibin, the initial inertia's gonna be hard, but it'll be a matter of time before you get used to the hectic life again! May the Lord be with you.

today's really a MOANday!(moanful monday!!) In fact, most Mondays are Moandays... I leave home at 8:40am and return only at 6:30pm - thanks to Physics lab *pukes*. My morale usually approaches an all time low on Monday mornings. Have 3 lectures, 2 discussions and 1 lab session, and just for the monday today, I had an OChem exam right after physics lab. I thought my morale will shoot up real high after the OChem exam, but the paper was tough. Wanted to "celebrate" the end of the first round of midterms by treating myself to something yummy for dinner, but I ended up cooking instant noodles (ps: I haven't had them since last year!) coz it was so cold outside I'd rather stay indoors and make do with something cheaper and simpler. But really, Maruchan noodles are awfully bad!!! *pukes pukes* I had to mix them with the nori (japanese seaweed which i bought at the japanese market yesterday) to mask its weird flavour. I poured away all the MSG-laden soup as well. Bottom line, you get what you pay for, and that's what I get for buying 10cents Maruchan noodles! (ps: I bought like 10 packets last sem and I still have about 8 packs left!)

Am really tired now... feeling very restless. Don't feel like doing anything but lazing around. Probably going to bed earlier tonight. At least, one of the most stressful periods of this sem is over. I should take comfort in that... And.... and.... Spring break is 5 weeks away. Home is 3 months away!!!

Last Friday's speech went well. Bagged a second prize though all my friends thought I'd have beaten the other competitors hands-down. A wee bit disappointed coz I was thought that'd would affect my chances of winning in the Chicago competition. I've got myself a USD20 discount voucher to shop in this Japanese Supermart, a USD50 discount off airticket if I purchase airtix from this particular Japanese travel agency, and the textbook that is used for next semester's Japanese. But I don't think I'm gonna continue learning Jap coz it's taking up way too much of my credits. Was pretty nervous when I was upstage and my legs were actually jittering... haha, but thankfully there was the speakers stand which helped concealed any uncontrollable leg movements. ;p And yes, I didn't forget my lines!!

the weekend was a blast, even though it meant NO WORK done... Due to the blizzard in Madison, we had to stay overnight in Chicago. Got back home only at 4pm yesterday. First time driving in the snow... Just had to drive a little slower as visibility was quite bad. We rented a car that was heavy and had really good ABS, so driving in the snow wasn't that bad. We went back to Phoenix for dimsum (which I had a month ago) and drove all the way Downtown just to get GODIVA Cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory!!

The night was filled with pure Singaporean humour.. and Singaporean food too! Hm.... I didn't really enjoy the food (utility not maximized) coz I think the afternoon dimsum still hasn't digested and my stomach wasn't really to receive dinner goodies. On top of that, I had to make space for the GODIVA Cheesecake!!! Hossan Leong made the trip all worth it.... I must say I'm not a person who's easily humoured but it's been quite sometime since I heard home-grown "crap" (reads humour) which I can't help, but join in the fun and laughter... Parking aunties (who issue ticket fines for cheapos who cheat on coupons), merlions, and durians (the Esplan-ade or the Esplan-ard) peppered his hour long solo performance. He ended off the night with a life performance of the "History of Singapore" which made its first appearance in a TalkingCock show in the Parliament.

For those who haven't seen it yet, I've provided the link below. Click to view...
