3 summer weeks in singapore
it's almost 2:30am now, and will probably be in the airport in a couple of hours time... 3 weeks isn't exactly long, but it sure flies! but i did manage to achieve some things out of this short stay back home...
I made a mask from scratch! Well, was inspired by the Venezian carnival masks which I wanted to get my hands on when I was in Venice in May. They looked stunning but was extremely exorbitant. I thought to myself then, it's probably something I could try creating and it shouldn't be that difficult given my artistic talents.... (tsk tsk...hahaha) It would make a fantastic Halloween costume this year... Masquerades!!! So in a fit of enthusiasm, I quickly got myself a plain cellulose mask from Art Friend the very day I landed in Singapore and got my brushes and colors to work...
In the works....
So I got Reynard and Jared to be my mask models....
but sorry ah, I've found a better model than you guys... *sorry!* haha...
Mum pulled it off quite well! :pAlso managed to learn a new piano piece... Nocturne Opus 9 No. 2 by Chopin. Lovely piece and I'm extremely proud of myself for being able to learn the piece in 3 weeks! Lots of hard work though... spent hours on the piano. My next target: Grand Polonaise!!
Been trying to get through C.S Lewis's "The Problem of Pain", which unlike Mere Christianity is a much harder read. Only managed half of the book so far.... sighz. I actually thought I could at least finish up that book before I leave.
And of course there was catching up with friends from all over... pretty intense, but at least I got to meet up with almost everyone at least once.
Chillin with road trip folks after dinner at Taka's Coffee Club.
Lunch with army pals at Crystal Jade, Holland V.
With JC friends at Shokudou, Raffles City.
A visit to Hannah's new home with Lightsticks (half of them....)
and suppers with buddies!!! thanks for making the effort, I really really really appreciate it! =)
last but not least, alot of quality time back at home! will miss you guys loads!
till june next year, take care and God bless!!!!dash
