Wanna let u all share My Moment!

Hey peeps...

Well lots been happening for all of us in our lives. Jianhong's leaving in less than 2 weeks time, Rey just came back from US of A, Elvin n Qing have been busy with all their Orientation camps (Or more like chasing skirts hahahaha!), Weibin is still down under starting second term of school... Well for me it has been no different. School's staring (i SUPER HATE BIDDING!!!), my aunt's family is leaving next monday... So it has been hectic.
But as some of you might know... last friday also marked a special day for me. Yes i am going to be a teacher! Received my award that day... Oh yeah did i also add that they have banked in my allowance for this year? Haha! Must spend really WISELY cos the sum's small man after u divide it for 12 months (might i add its abt half of wat we get for our army allowance!)

The ceremony was held at Suntec City Exhibition Hall. There was about 327 awardee holders and scholars this year. According to Minister of Education Thaman Shamugaratnam (OK i'll be honest, i dunno how to spell his name ok?) its the highest ever, he said we are BUMPER CROP! (oh did i mention i shook his hand? Whaaha! WOW! BIG deal right? heh!)


And of course, the people who influenced me in making the decision to be part of them! My teachers!

Well, i committed a MAJOR mistake during the awards ceremony. Well a few weeks before the ceremony, they asked us to write a Thank You speech to anyone we liked within the parameters of 4 lines. These words were flashed during our awards ceremony. Guess wat i didnt do, I DIDNT THANK MY TEACHERS! Almost everyone did except me lor! I was so embarrassed haha! (Maybe thats why the teacher i invited to the ceremony, Mrs Leicester left halfway thru?.?.?) Well if anyone of them does read this blog (Which i HIGHLY doubt ) Thank you very much to each and everyone of you... You've all been an inspiration to me!
First and foremost, i have to thank Mrs Heng for her undying attention she showered upon me during Secondary school, especially when she i 1st found out my dad had cancer. She showed to me that a teacher's job is not merely to impart his/her knowledge to her student, they also have to concerned with the emotional side of a person.
Then there was Mrs L, through all her eccentricities, i highly respect her for her wealth of knowledge and for standing up for me during my traumatic art years during JC. I also wanna thank her for her guidance, especially since i knew i was never gifted in art, but i worked my ass off for it.
Oh yes my GP teacher Mrs Noordin made every GP lesson so intriguing! I would never want to miss her GP lesson. One of my conversations with her regarding religion has been deeply etched in my mind. She really opened my eyes to see the world for what it is.
There are sooo many others but if i listed everyone down u all will die of boredom reading this entry so i shall move on!

Oh yes how could i not thank my family too! Thanks to my Mum and Eegi for turning up at the ceremony, and also to my cousin Aly for babysitting Joy n Jonathan for us! Thanks a million! Thank you for being with me through my proudest and lowest moments!

I think what left the deepest impression on me during the ceremony was when the commentator said "I am sure many of you have been asked by your peers or even fellow teacher the question 'WHY TEACH?'..." Then as i looked around the room with all the teachers whom fellow scholars had invited along for being an inspiration to them... I am reassured why i wanted to choose this career path in the 1st place.
