on growing old and scumbag recruits
first of all, happy belated birthday to our dear elvin who has turned 20 already.... soon to come, Rey and myself. *sighs* soon, we'll all be done with our teen years and moving on to serious business like careers, marriage and parenting... (am i thinking too far ahead?) well, i should think not. time winged chariot spares NO ONE! although i do cherish my childhood and teenhood, given a choice, i wouldn't want to redo it again. it's done... D-O-N-E. i'll be more than glad to reminisce all the wonderful memories we shared (if my memory doesn't fail me) but i definitely have no slightest desire to stagnate where i am now. i know the future is going to be hard for me.... and for you too, but i'm curious to experience the unknown, to experience what the next phase of life has in store for both me and you.... at the same time, i learn to lean on the Lord for His wise guidance and trust that He has the best for me - and you too! so growing old ain't a cruel thing eh? it all depends on how you look at it.
those pesky recruits are really pushing my buttons man.... they take my kindness for my weakness and i'm super dissed now. i won't go into the details for i'll fill you guys in all in one shot when you all come this saturday. all i can say is that i'm sapped of energy. i've given all my time and effort on them so much so i've got minimal time for rest and have stopped QT in camp. i seldom keep in touch with friends via sms now, (rey now you know). i admit it's partly my laziness to reply to messages, but it's mainly becuase of the faulty keypad (esp key 7 and 0) makes me super frustrated everytime i message because i have to use brute force to press those buttons. i pity my poor thumb... i'm switching to interactive short chats as compared to sms now - so pls understand kaez? the hp has become a mode of communication in camp - a 'handy' GPS for colleagues and superiors to contact me... i get totally freaked out when the phone rings because it's rarely any good thing - extra work, sai gang, arrows??? i haven't been spending much time at home too (thanks to a 5.5 day work week) but thankfully, i have the understanding and support from my family.that's really a BIG relief for me. in a nutshell, i live like a blardy recluse in camp. facing those lang(3) xin(1) gou(3) fei(4) recruits 24/7. totally cut off from the outside world... haven't been watching tv nor reading the newspapers. situation is THAT bad.... sergeant hen(3) xing(1) ku(3) de(4) !!! i've yet to think of a perfect plan for them to submit WILLINGLY to our (the superiors) commands... key word here guys - WILLINGLY. quite impossible i must say... maybe a "tsunami" in camp or a tornado?
to think i'd be quite slack during the BMT phase. can do this and that... PTP was still ok but BMT is barely manageable, especially when there isn't enough manpower in my platoon. still, i've to move on with my social life. met my BMT section mates last saturday (15th) to celebrate our 1st anniversary as soldiers. although i'm not very close to my BMT section mates (except for a few), it's definitely nice to meet up once in a blue moon to see how everyone is doing... the last time we all seen each other was POP (25th mar 2004) and dear jared, i'm really proud of you for staying so strong all this while. God has been merciful indeed. and my sentiments echo that of rey's... we'll standby you.... forever and ever! :) Yay.... got my PDL today and I hope to start my driving lessons soon. try to clear it wthin 6 mths la... if possible *grinz* and as for the prezzie thing.... i hope we can put the money together (like last time) to get something useful for the jan babies? just a suggestion la.... what do you guys think? i also need suggestions for the post-dinner program, if any...or else we jie(4) jiu(3) xiao(1) chou(2) till morning outside my balcony? *LoL*
Finally, the most important piece of information....
