Walk on
Hi people,
It's been quite a while since I posted, so I was thinking, since I'm doing duty, might as well. Haha - was actually thinking of going to sleep but I think it'll be a waste of time.
So here goes, 2004 behind and a brand new start of 2005. I've thought of this year to a year where I'm gonna make good use of the time I have in NS. So for a little update, here's what I'm thinking of doing this year. For a start, I'll be registering with the driving school in Ubi (outside PLAB) on the 28th of this month. Also, I'll be applying to Australian Universities to pursue medicine, and later this year in July I'll be learning windsurfing. Haha, and in the midst of all these I'll be trying very hard to save up for a backpacking trip next year while clearing leave. Am quite excited - also very looking forward to the trip with my family incl. my cousins to Tasmania in Dec this year. Sometimes I sit down and I think of how fortunate I am, and I really want to thank God for all that He's blessed me with.
And with all these blessings, I'll have to say I'm ashamed of myself, for still I am not contended with life, with the way certain things are - I'm unhappy with the arrangements in the medical centre, unhappy with the regulars and fellow medics I have to work with; unhappy with some of the relationships I have with people. Thus I've put away the initial idea of typing out here all the unhappy things that I experience here in the medical centre. It really is a blessing itself to be able to focus on all the things we've inherited from Him in this life. Yea, I mean, I feel happier and more at ease now just by focusing on what I have and am going to have even when circumstances remain. As for the uneventful (and definitely unforgettable) situations I find myself stuck in, I just tell myself they are, after all, a thing of the moment, which I will leave to be a past after I ORD (HAHA!!!) and hopefully fly off to Asutralia.
Hmmm, Army till now isn't exactly THAT bad, considering what I've gained out of it. Got to talk to many different people and to interact with species of the same kind yet possess thinkings similar to those of the other. The wonders of the human psychology, my friends. Haha. If asked what I've gained most, I supposed it'll be a change of mindset, and I'm sure many people will say the same. I mean, Army itself forces almost everyone into circumstances where they don't see themselves in or do not want themselves to be in, which is bad, but good at the same time. Haha. Cos you're force to deal with what you are given and to work with what you have. But anyway, I ain't here to promote or defend anything, so I'll leave that as that. Haha.
Went to Jared's Dad's wake on Thursday. Jared - I'm thankful that the Lord has made you so strong and brave to deal. It's really sad, but at the same while, hold on to the Lord for He has control over over all of that's happening. Trust in Him. Recently we saw a pt who's till trying to get over his mother's death from 2003. All the while he bottled up his grieve and retreated himself to isolation. When we saw him, he just sat in the consultation room and cried, pouring out the regrets he's had - regretting that he prayed for his mother's death when she was around because he didn't want to see her continue to suffer; regretting that his mother won't be around to see him move on in life. At that point, my heart went out for him. Seeing him cry just made me felt sour as well. I started to think about the end that each and everyone faces. Call it cruel, call it dark, but it may also mean relief and the start of a whole new journey with the Lord. That incident prompted me to spend more time with my loved ones and also not to put so much focus on the things in this life that form but just a temporal part. So Jared, look ahead, look up - for you dad's in a much better place. =)
Oh, before I end, think I'll wish the 3 birthday babies of this month a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Wow, 20. A new start for a new number! I'm really sorry I won't be able to make it on the 29th. Am having duty on 29th and 30th. And no one will be willing to change duty, cos "That's a party you're going to miss and it ain't my business if you really miss the fun and time you can spend with your friends." Would really wanna meet up with you guys!!! Please, can we arrange for another meeting thereafter? Perhaps we can go visit Simon again!! Lol. By the way, he's moved to Canberra for he got accepted to a company there after he graduated from UWA. For me, am still having lots of duties to do cos I'm still considered the 'new' batch. Pukes. Haha. Ya, so you guys have a great time!
Till we meet again,
In His everlasting love,
Weibin
